Warm weather stops spreading coronavirus

That's interesting. I mean I live in a hot place so I guess that's a good thing for me, but I wonder if what he's saying is true and why that is the case.

This is common sense though. This is the same virus that causes the flu season spikes. The reason less people get sick outside of "flu season" is because it is warmer and people are not cooped up instead. Viruses spread faster when it is cold and when people are closed in their homes and places of work.

I just read the following that fits exactly with the above:

Two weeks since reporting its first case, Cameroon total cases climbed to 99 on Saturday, as African countries report surprisingly slow spread of the virus despite their relatively poor infrastructure.

So, maybe a few more weeks and then we can get back to normal hopefully

I don't know about that, considering Florida is one of the worst places to be right now because of the Coronavirus. Snopes states for some viruses it can slow down in warmer climates, but according to the WHO, it can be transmitted in all areas, so weather doesn't have much of a factor against this virus. This is going to go on well into the summer months I believe. I think it's going to slow down near August or so, but I sure hope sooner. As well, keep in mind that the US is starting to really face it, with us being the top infected in the world right now.

You use Snopes as your reference. When I look there, I see the following:
However, according to the World Health Organization, COVID-19 “can be transmitted in ALL AREAS, including areas with hot and humid weather.” This disease will not “go away” due to warmer weather.

It's too early to tell if the spread of the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 will be dampened by warm weather.
The upshot is that they don't know.

Scientists that have done research come to a different conclusion as published by the Financial Times

Some studies have suggested that the new coronavirus will indeed follow the marked seasonality shown by its genetic cousins that have been circulating among humans for many years.

This research also suggests that Covid-19 will find it harder to gain a foothold in the tropics than in the world’s temperate regions. “Based on what we have documented so far, it appears that the virus has a harder time spreading between people in warmer climates,” said Mohammad Sajadi, an associate professor at the University of Maryland’s Institute of Virology who has been studying the outbreak, which has infected close to 400,000 people around the world.

Scientists from Beihang and Tsinghua universities in China, who have examined how the coronavirus has been transmitted in 100 Chinese cities, concluded that “high temperature and high relative humidity significantly reduce the transmission of Covid-19”.

Maybe it reduces the spread, but it certainly hasn't stopped it yet. Australia, Brazil, and many other countries that have hot/warm climates shows us this. The only way to stop this virus is to keep doing what we're doing now; staying indoors and waiting it out. Because it's clear that hot climates aren't stopping it now, so who's to say it'll stop when summer rolls around here in the states or elsewhere?

The big reason it's not stopping is because of idiots who don't self quarantine, or people who go out because they don't believe it, or just don't care because they think, they're young and have a good immune system that it won't bother them.

If everyone just stayed indoors, in their home without leaving for 2 weeks, the virus would be completely dead. Let that sink in!

It amazes me that some people are not willing to just take a lazy 2 weeks to themselves to help other people. All you have to do is sit on your butt at home! Why is it so hard for people to do this? It is like now that they are asking people to be lazy, everyone wants to run a marathon.

They won't even have a vaccination for another year at the earliest. Likely going to be 2 years. By then, they won't really need it cause it would have run its course unless we continue to delay it long enough to keep it alive which seems foolish.
