Record number of unemployed people in US

It was to be expected, but when you read how many people are unemployed because of the coronavirus it is staggering.

The pace at which Americans are losing their jobs is absolutely breathtaking. According to the Wall Street Journal, the largest number of new claims for unemployment benefits ever recorded in a single week prior to this year was 695,000 during the week that ended October 2nd, 1982.

So that means that what we are now witnessing is completely unprecedented, as The US Department of Labor reports a stunning increase of 3.283 million people sought initial jobless claims last week amid the virus lockdowns (almost double the expectation of a 1.7million increase).

Are you one of those 3 million plus people?

Thankfully both my current jobs have not shut down yet. But I have family members who are currently without work and are having to file for unemployment benefits right now. It's tough. This is such a crazy situation.

Blame Trump! This is all his fault! See, Obama was right! HE RUINED THE COUNTRY!

I am joking of course. This is just how people who hate Trump are reacting. I am out of work and I am holding off as long as I can without filing because I know some families out there need the help more than I do. I live by myself and have a savings I am using for the time being.
