Do you budget your spending based on need?

I believe most people don't. They budget it based on impulse, often buying things they don't need. I feel this is a big reason so many are in debt these days.

I do my best to not spend beyond my needs. I look for sales every chance I get. I only buy new things when I need them. Heck, plenty of my pants and shirts have holes in them, I still wear them. I don't earn a whole lot so not overspending allows me to live on my own and not struggle.

I'm definitely guilty of spending impulsively. I feel sort of bored and empty if I don't get my fix of what I feel like. I'd prefer to find something more naturally fulfilling though of course.

I buy as I need but I also get things I don't need, just want. Most of which is cheap. The only time I spend big money is when it comes to my PC and my comfort, so like a bed and such. Everything else in my place is cheap basic furniture and what not.

You probably save a lot of money buying cheaper. I know quality isn't as good when it comes to appliances, furniture, etc. but if you take care of what you buy, then it will last just as long.

I do indeed. You can even buy cheaper and build off of items to make them last even longer. I recently got a bookshelf for $35 at Walmart and used some extra wood I had in the garage to reinforce it. It is more sturdy and holds more weight now.

I buy things as I want them but never in excess. I always put needs first. I make sure I have enough for food and household goods as well as pet food. If I do, I allow myself to buy things as I want them. Since the Sims games are marked down, I bought a few of those with some extra money I had.

Walmart does have decent furniture for cheap, just a matter of not damaging it when you are putting it together. Reinforcing items is always a good idea.

Now I do! It's crazy how much I have tightened my belt with the Corona thing. Prior to this, not so much. But for me now, the world feels scary and unpredictable. What's going on here is unprecedented.
