Trump pardoning high profile individuals

Why does he do this? The president just made headlines again today, for granting pardons to former New York police commissioner Bernie Kerik, former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, and Eddie DeBartolo Jr, who used to own the San Francisco 49ers. All had been incarcerated on fairly long sentences. Most of the charges seemed to be for tax evasion and fraud.

I feel like Trump doesn't do himself any favors by doing things like this. The last thing the people want to see is high profile individuals getting off Scot-free, all because Trump has some connection to them somehow.

Yeah I don't get it either.

Like he is the embodiment of the corporate fat cat and if he wants to stay relatable to anyone, he should not be cutting these jokers any slack.

I agree, it's a different matter when people are innocent, but from I've read these guys are guilty and why should they get pardoned just because they happen to know the president?

Well I dunno, it is bad, but the former presidents did the same thing, just at least ten times the amount or am I wrong?
