Glasses and/or Contact Lenses?

Do any of you guys wear glasses and/or contacts on a regular basis? If both, which do you prefer? Have any of you had corrective eye surgery?

Personally I wear glasses around the house and I wear contact lenses when going out and about. I prefer contacts, but they can be expensive and annoying at times. My vision is pretty terrible (I can't even see the first big letter "E" on the little vision chart they have you look at at the doctor's) without some sort of correction, so I don't really have a choice but to wear one or the other.

I've had some eyeproblems during this last year.

For years I've had reading glasses, but then I got problems reading road signs and that sort of things as well.

So I went to the opticien who checked my eyes and sent me straight to the eye clinic because my eye pressure was far too high.

Luckily that has now been corrected by taking eyedrops every day and now I have glasses.

One pair for going out and doing things, and one for the computer.

I've not tried contact lenses, but the idea does not appeal to me either for some reason. I'm happy with my glasses.

I wear glasses for driving sometimes, and for watching TV. I am a little shortsighted. I find them irritating to wear though, so I try to go without unless I really need to see better. I tried contacts too actually, but I'm really bad about touching my eyeballs so that didn't work out.

I've used contacts since I was a young kid, so I am very used to them. But they can be very difficult and annoying. When I first started using them, I would accidentally put them in "inside out", poke my eyes, drop them, rip them, etc. and it took me a while to become a "pro" at them.

Now I use daily contact lenses. So I don't have to worry as much if I accidentally drop one on the floor or rip one, because they are basically disposable. Costs me about $1 a day but it's worth it for someone who is very active but with terrible vision like myself.

I have glasses and I have the prescription for my contacts but I wear neither. I'm gonna be completely blind by the time I'm 40.
